Yes, We Make Headstones
Stories Etched in Stone – Article 11
Traditional monuments and more choices for today’s families.
“Every life is unique. We believe every memorial should be, too.”
Welcome
Over the first ten articles in Stories Etched in Stone, we have explored many ways families can remember someone they love—from traditional headstones and grave markers to cremation urns, garden memorials, benches, plaques, and photo-etched granite. That sometimes leads to a simple question:
Does Bolt Laserworks make traditional headstones?
Yes, we do. Bolt Laserworks is a Michiana monument and memorial company serving northern Indiana (South Bend, Elkhart, Mishawaka areas), and southwest Michigan (Niles, Dowagiac, Three Rivers, St. Joe, Kalamazoo areas). Bolt offers the traditional cemetery choices families expect, along with a much broader range of cremation memorials for the way many families are choosing to remember loved ones today.

Traditional Memorials Are Still Important
Traditional cemetery monuments remain one of the most familiar and lasting forms of memorialization. We offer upright headstones, flat markers, bevel markers, slants, benches, companion monuments, and other traditional granite memorials. Each can be custom designed around the individual or family it represents. Names and dates may be combined with photographs, artwork, meaningful sayings, military service, hobbies, occupations, religious symbols, landscapes, and other personal details.
Cremation Has Changed the Memorial Landscape
For generations, the monument industry was built primarily around traditional headstones for cemetery burial. In many situations, those traditional styles remain exactly the right choice. But as cremation continues to grow in popularity, many families are looking for memorial choices that go beyond the conventional cemetery headstone.
We recognize that cremation does not eliminate the desire for a permanent memorial. In many ways, it has expanded the possibilities. Bolt Laserworks offers memorial options for those changing needs, including indoor and outdoor granite urns, garden memorials, cemetery urns, benches, plaques, and other custom granite memorials.
We believe a modern monument company should be prepared to help families explore all of those choices.
Traditional and Non-Traditional Can Work Together
Memorial choices do not always fall neatly into either burial or cremation. A granite bench or cemetery urn can be designed with the same photographs, artwork, lettering, and personal history that might traditionally appear on a headstone. Whether intended for a cemetery, home, or garden, there are many options available.

IMPORTANT: Acceptable monument styles and sizes vary from cemetery to cemetery. Always consult cemetery rules before making a final decision.
We Make Headstones, Designed and Made In-House
From start to finish, graphic design, proofing, laser etching, and stone setting are completed in-house at Bolt Laserworks. That gives us greater control over quality, revisions, scheduling, and production. It can also mean substantially shorter turnaround times. Our goal is to provide families with quality memorials, personal service, shorter delivery times, and competitive prices.
Modern Technology, Traditional Purpose
The tools used to create memorials have changed, but the purpose has not. Bolt Laserworks combines traditional monument design with modern laser technology. For detailed photographs and artwork, our gantry-style MOPA laser technology allows us to produce exceptionally fine detail on premium black granite.
We offer the traditional headstone choices families have known for generations, enhanced by modern design and state-of-the-art laser etching.
